The Reutter body was originally finished in Silver Metallic (5606) and was repainted by SV Auto of Ontario, California, in 2021. Bodywork prior to the repaint involved replacement of the floor pans, front and rear inner fenders, battery box, left rocker panel, and inner front hood frame. Silver 15″ steel wheels wear chrome hubcaps with Porsche crests and are mounted with 155SR15 Vredestein Sprint Classic tires, as is a matching spare secured in the front compartment. Stopping power is provided by hydraulic drum brakes that were refreshed during the refurbishment with a replacement master cylinder and wheel cylinders.
The cabin was reupholstered during the refurbishment and features red leather over the front bucket seats, fold-down rear bench, door panels, and dash. Additional features include beige square-weave carpeting, black rubber floor mats, black lap belts, leather rear luggage straps, a Porsche-branded radio blanking plate, a dash-mounted ashtray, and a lockable glovebox.
The re-cast ivory-color steering wheel sits ahead of green-letter VDO instrumentation that includes a 120-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, and gauges monitoring oil temperature and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 77k miles, a handful of which have been added by the selling dealer. The instruments were refurbished by North Hollywood Speedometer in 2018.
The replacement 1.6-liter flat-four was overhauled during the refurbishment with replacement Mahle pistons and cylinders, rod and crankshaft bearings, valves, and valve guides, springs, and seats. The crankshaft and camshaft were reground during the project, while the lifters and flywheel were resurfaced and the distributor, generator, starter, and Solex 32 PCIB carburetors were overhauled.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a dual-mount four-speed manual transaxle that was overhauled during the refurbishment with replacement synchros, bearings, and gaskets. A Danske muffler was also fitted along with replacement shock absorbers.
