The fiberglass body is said to have been removed from the frame and refinished in red during the 2018 refurbishment. Features include a replacement beige convertible top on a powder-coated frame, a curved windshield, wire mesh headlight guards, a chrome grille, a driver-side mirror, directional signals, a three-piece rear bumper, and dual exhaust outlets exiting through the rear valance.
The red-finished 15” steel wheels feature chrome covers with simulated knockoffs and wear wide-whitewall tires. The C1 was equipped from the factory with an independent front suspension, front and rear hydraulic shocks, and a live rear axle with semi-elliptical leaf springs. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel drum brakes. The suspension was reportedly rebuilt in 2018.
The bucket seats are upholstered in light beige vinyl and are faired into the rear bodywork. Additional appointments include a dash-mounted rear-view mirror, an AM radio, an analog clock, a heater, courtesy lights, a floor-mounted shifter, and polished door sill guards.
The two-spoke steering wheel features a chrome horn ring and fronts a 140-mph speedometer. A 6k-rpm tachometer with a revolution counter is mounted in the center of the dashboard and flanked by gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, amperage, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 154 miles, approximately 30 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The 265ci V8 was factory equipped with a Carter four-barrel carburetor and was rated at 195 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque when new. The engine was reportedly overhauled in 2018. A placard that was provided to the seller when he purchased the car listing component serial numbers is shown in the image gallery.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a two-speed Powerglide automatic transmission that was reportedly rebuilt in 2005.
