Finished from the factory in Light Blue metallic (DB353H), the car has been repainted in blue and features a replacement black convertible soft top that was replaced under current ownership. Other equipment includes a driver-side mirror plus a bright windshield surround, grille, and bumpers. A July 2021 estimate from Specialized Claims Synergy for work required following an engine fire is viewable in the photo gallery below, and the car is said to have been subsequently refinished by Tam’s Auto Body of Oakland, California. The seller notes a dent on the right-rear passenger side.
Body-color steel 13″ wheels wear chrome trim rings, hubcaps with body-color accents, and 185/80 Maxxis MA-1 whitewall tires. The car is equipped with a control-arm front suspension, rear swing axles with coil springs, and power-assisted drum brakes. The brake master cylinder was replaced and the system bled in May 2021.
The cabin has been refurbished and features low-back bucket seats upholstered in red leather as well as matching door panels and dashboard trim. Features include an AM/FM radio, a heater, lap belts, a glovebox, and a dashboard-mounted rearview mirror. The radio is inoperative, and wear is noted on the dashboard and other interior areas.
The two-spoke steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation including a 140-mph speedometer and a 7k-rpm tachometer along with gauges for oil pressure, water temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows approximately 99,990 miles, and about 1k miles have been added under current ownership; true mileage is unknown.
The 1.9-liter M121 inline-four was factory rated at 104 horsepower and 105 lb-ft of torque. Following a fire in the engine bay in 2021, the generator and battery wiring were replaced, as were the Weber 40 DCOE 151 carburetors, fuel hoses and filter, intake-manifold gasket, coolant and heater hoses, and battery. A $13,469 November 2021 receipt for work performed by Burlingame Motors of Burlingame, California is provided in the gallery.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a synchronized four-speed manual transmission. The clutch and pressure plate were replaced in May 2021 along with the shifter and clutch-pedal bushings, and the flywheel was machined concurrently.
