The car left the factory finished in Ruby Red (5702) and was fitted with replacement rocker panels under previous ownership. Equipment includes an optional Golde sliding sunroof, body-color bumpers with chrome overriders and guards, Lucas driving lights, LED taillights, and dual exhaust outlets exiting through the rear bumper. A Reutter rack is mounted through the rear grille and houses a set of vintage wooden skis and poles. Rust is noted in the front fenders and in the bottom of the door skin, and various stone chips, dings, and scratches are noted around the entirety of the body.
Painted 15×4.5″ Lemmerz steel wheels wear Porsche crest hubcaps and are mounted with Vredestein Sprint Classic tires. A wide-five spare wheel is mounted in the front trunk. Braking is handled by drums at all four corners.
The cabin features black vinyl on the front seats, dashboard, and door panels, as well as tan square weave carpets and patterned floor mats. Additional equipment includes a heater, an Ivory-color steering wheel, door pockets, a locking glove box, a push-button Blaupunkt radio, and an aftermarket CB radio. The front seats are said to be re-padded and wrapped in replacement vinyl.
The body-color dashboard houses a central 6k-rpm tachometer, a 120-mph speedometer, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 53k miles, though the true mileage is unknown.
The replacement 1.6-liter flat-four was reportedly sourced from a 1961 356B and was installed under previous ownership. The most recent service consisted of adjusting the valves and carburetors, setting the timing, and replacing the oil pressure switch, spark plugs, ignition points, air filters, and valve cover gaskets. Oil seepage is noted from the engine, and the front battery pan was reportedly replaced.
The removed 1.6-liter flat-four is included in the sale.
A photo of the removed engine’s number stamping is provided above.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle. Additional photos of the underside are provided in the image gallery.
The Porsche Certificate of Authenticity lists original colors, drivetrain numbers, and options. A copy of the Kardex report is also provided in the gallery.
