The 356B coupe body is said to have sustained rear-end damage before being used for the build. The roof and glass were removed and replaced with an RSK-style three-piece plexiglass windscreen that extends to the doors, while the factory steel rear sheet metal was replaced with custom aluminum bodywork fabricated by Tin Element of Loveland, Colorado. The side trim, door handles, turn signals, and bumper mounts were shaved and the rear decklid is affixed to the body via billet-aluminum exterior-mounted hinges.
The car was repainted in its current shade of silver as part of the build and features headlight guards, tan leather hood straps, a single decklid grille, and twin chrome exhaust outlets. A custom green tonneau cover is included in the sale and can be viewed in the gallery.
Silver-finished 15” wide-five wheels are mounted with 195/60 Yokohama A-008R tires. Koni shocks are fitted at all four corners, and stopping power is provided by finned four-wheel drum brakes.
The cockpit houses two fixed-back seats trimmed in green leather with a matching shifter boot, side panel trim, door panels, and door pull straps. A billet-aluminum rear-view mirror sits atop the body-color dash, and additional details include a modified pedal set, Deist Safety lap belts, and tan leather door check straps as well as gray wool carpets with green piping.
The banjo-style steering wheel wears a Christophorus horn button and fronts green-letter VDO instrumentation including an 8k-rpm tachometer, a 250-km/h speedometer, and a combination gauge for oil temperature and fuel level. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 500 miles, and total chassis mileage is unknown.
The front trunk houses a custom fuel tank secured by tan leather straps along with a six-volt Optima battery.
The replacement 1,720cc flat-four is said to have been fitted with JE pistons prior to installation and is fed by twin Weber carburetors.
Engine stamping P☆805431☆ corresponds with a Type 616/7 flat-four from a 1962 356B Super 90.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a close-ratio four-speed manual transaxle that was installed as part of the build. A modified Abarth-style exhaust system has also been added.
