Steel 15” wheels wear factory bright covers and are mounted with Firestone Deluxe Champion whitewall tires that were installed in 2021, at which time the brakes were serviced and the rear leaf springs were replaced. Work in September 2021 consisted of replacing the front stabilizer bar bushings and links.
The interior was refreshed with red vinyl upholstery under previous ownership along with replacement red and black carpeting. Amenities include a push-button Wonderbar AM radio, an analog clock, a cigarette lighter, lap belts, a dash-mounted rearview mirror, a replacement wiper motor switch and slide actuator, and rubber floor mats.
A three-spoke steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, amperage, and oil pressure. The fuel and temperature gauges were rebuilt under current ownership and the fuel sending unit was replaced. The five-digit odometer shows 57k miles, and true mileage is unknown.
The 327ci V8 was rated at 360 horsepower when new and received a top-end rebuild by Just Corvettes of Northfield, Illinois, in March 2021. A valve job was performed and the Rochester fuel injection unit was also overhauled at that time, and additional work included replacing the ignition harness and battery, re-coring the radiator, and installing new ignition components, belts, hoses, and fluids.
The stamping on the engine pad is shown above. Engine suffix “RF” indicates a fuel-injected 327ci/360 horsepower engine with a hi-lift camshaft in conjunction with a manual transmission.
