Body-color 15″ steel wheels wear Ford-branded hubcaps and are mounted with 6.70-15 Firestone Deluxe Champion tires, while a matching spare is housed in the trunk compartment. The car rides on an independent front suspension with leaf springs and shocks fitted at the rear. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel drum brakes.
The cabin houses front bucket seats and a rear bench upholstered in black crush vinyl accompanied by a color-coordinated dashboard, headliner, door panels, and carpets. Polished trim adorns the interior, and additional appointments include a center console, a heater and defroster, a dash-mounted clock, quarter vent windows, optional two-speed windshield wipers, and a push-button AM radio.
The three-spoke steering wheel features a polished horn ring and fronts a horizontal-sweep 120-mph speedometer along with gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 46k miles, approximately 20 of which have been added under current ownership.
The R-code 427ci V8 features dual four-barrel carburetors as well as a 427-branded air cleaner and valve covers. Factory-rated output was 425 horsepower and 480 lb-ft of torque.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a 4.11:1 rear axle. The frame along with various suspension and braking components were painted black as part of the refurbishment. Additional underside images are available to view in the gallery below.
