The fiberglass body was originally finished in Milano Maroon (988), and was repainted during the refurbishment, at which time the frame was refreshed and the soft top was replaced. Additional exterior features include a removable hardtop, a driver-side mirror, a retractable antenna, flip-up headlights, split chrome bumpers, and twin exhaust finishers exiting through the rear valance.
The 15″ Turbine-style aluminum wheels feature knock-off spinners and are mounted with 205/75 Hankook Otimo H724 tires. The C2 Corvette rides on independent suspension utilizing upper and lower control arms with coil springs at the front and a transverse leaf spring at the rear. The car is equipped with power steering, and braking is handled by four-wheel discs. Brake and suspension work were performed during the refurbishment process, per the seller. A spare set of steel wheels and covers will accompany the car.
The cabin features bucket seats upholstered in black vinyl as well as color-coordinated dash pad and door panels. The seller notes the carpet was replaced during the refurbishment process, and the car is equipped with a heater, a Delco AM/FM radio, an analog clock, and lap belts.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges for fuel level, amperage, oil pressure, and water temperature. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 50k miles, approximately 700 of which were added under current ownership. The seller notes the instrumentation was refurbished in 2009. Total mileage is unknown.
The 327ci L79 V8 was factory rated at 350 horsepower and 360 lb-ft of torque, and the seller notes the engine was overhauled and fitted with a breakerless ignition system during the refurbishment process. The wiring, cooling, and fuel systems were also refurbished at that time, per the seller.
A photo of the engine pad stamping is provided above.
Power is directed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a Positraction differential, both of which are said to have been rebuilt during the refurbishment process. Additional photos of the underbody are included in the gallery.
Four removed steel wheels mounted with bias-ply tires are included along with hubcaps and other spare parts.
