Years and many memorable miles later, the car eventually made its’ way back to Massachusetts in 2001. During this
year, the carburetors and speedometer were rebuilt. When the car was not being loved by this Navy Lieutenant, it
was stored in a heated warehouse, where he could assure the integrity of this vehicle would be cared for.
Throughout the early 2000s, the car was driven and enjoyed with no issues. Eventually it had to be taken off the
road due to owner’s health issues. It was stored in a heated warehouse (with other classic cars) when it was not
being driven. After we acquired the car this summer, we had the same mechanic that worked on this car in the past
go through the car and refresh any system that needed repair. Along with the carbs being adjusted and a recent tune
up, we had the front brake lines replaced, and caliper pistons cleaned and replaced. Along with this maintenance we
had a fresh professional paint job done in the original factory color, dark British Racing Green (including the
wheel wells). It came out gorgeous and showcases the beautiful curvature of this classic car’s lines.
Car is in great condition both cosmetically and mechanically. Body and frame are clean and straight, Chrome bumpers
(with overriders) and chrome trim are clean and shines brilliant next to the deep dark green hues. The car is
presented with the original convertible top which opens and closes smoothly (one small .5” rip present). Top has
a rear window that can be unzipped and folded down for better airflow and rear view vision. Comes mounted on the
four original chrome wire wheels (which was a more expensive option to include back in ’67) with knock-off hubs.
Original black leather interior shows beautifully with no rips or tears. Seats are still very comfy and hug the
driver when enjoying tight turns.
