The 15×4.5″ Fuchs wheels are mounted with 165-width Pirelli Cinturato CN36 tires. A matching full-size spare is located in the front trunk. The suspension components were removed, stripped, powder-coated, and reinstalled with replacement bushings, ball joints, and tie rod ends during the refurbishment, while the Koni shocks were rebuilt by Koni Classic. The steering rack was also rebuilt at that time. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel ventilated disc brakes that were overhauled and refinished by PMB Performance of Murray, Utah, in 2020.
The cockpit features bucket seats trimmed in black leatherette with color-coordinated door panels and rear seating surfaces. Black square-weave carpets line the floors, and additional equipment includes aluminum dash and door panel trim, a plastic-backed rearview mirror, fold-down rear sears, and front lap belts. The pedal box was rebuilt in 2020, and the factory-optioned Webasto gas heater has been disconnected.
The leather-wrapped four-spoke steering wheel features a “bat wing” horn button and frames a central tachometer with a 7,200-rpm redline, a 150-mph speedometer, combination gauges, and a clock, all of which are said to have been serviced during the refurbishment. The five-digit odometer shows 75k miles, approximately 300 of which were added under current ownership.
The aluminum-case flat-six was overhauled and fitted with 2.2-liter pistons and cylinders by the selling dealer in 2020. The Weber 40IDS 3C carburetors, oil cooler, alternator, and distributor were also rebuilt, and replacement valves, springs, and retainers were installed by marque specialist Dick Elverud. SSI heat exchangers have been installed, and the engine hardware has been re-plated with a cadmium finish.
Engine stamping *960217* can be seen above and matches the number listed on the Kardex below.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a five-speed manual transaxle that was overhauled and fitted with a replacement clutch in 2020. A replacement fuel tank and lines were installed in 2020, and the fuel pump was rebuilt at that time. Corrosion on the underside can be seen in the gallery.
