The front subframe was removed and the body disassembled, repaired, and refinished in its factory shade of Cordovan Maroon by Jerry’s Hot Rods of Hampstead, Maryland, under prior ownership. 3.4% of 1968 Camaros were finished in Cordovan Maroon. Exterior features include a black vinyl roof, a white nose stripe, chrome bumpers, a driver-side mirror, a vented hood, SS and 396 badging, and dual exhaust outlets.
The body-color 14″ steel wheels wear chrome covers and are equipped with Firestone Super Sport Wide Oval Redline F70-14 tires. Braking is handled by power-assisted drums all around, and multi-leaf rear springs were factory equipment.
The seats was re-trimmed in black vinyl and are accompanied by a color-coordinated dashboard, door panels, and carpets. The car is equipped with lap belts, standard front bucket seats, wood trim, a glovebox, a Muncie shifter, manually operated windows, and a Delco push-button AM/FM radio.
The three-spoke steering wheel fronts a 120-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 142 miles, which is believed to be the distance driven since the refurbishment was completed. Total mileage is unknown.
The 396ci L78 Turbo-Jet V8 was factory rated at 375 horsepower. The engine was reportedly rebuilt under prior ownership and installed by Lucas Restorations.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Muncie four-speed manual transmission and 12-bolt rear axle with a 3.73:1 Positraction differential. Additional photos of the underside are presented in the gallery.
