Silver-painted 15″ Rally wheels wear polished trim rings and hubcaps and are mounted with Goodyear Wide Tread GT bias-ply tires. A matching spare wheel and tire are mounted in the trunk along with a jack. Power-assisted steering was equipped from the factory, and braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear drums.
The front bucket seats feature headrests and wear black vinyl seat covers with cloth houndstooth inserts, as does the rear bench. Additional features include woodgrain trim on the dashboard and center console, a Delco push-button AM radio with a rear speaker, front shoulder belts, and Chevrolet-branded black rubber floormats.
The two-spoke steering wheel features RS badging and woodgrain trim, and it fronts a 120-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and an analog clock. Additional gauges showing fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and battery amperage are mounted in the center console in front of the shifter. The five-digit odometer shows over 25k miles, a handful of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The 302ci V8 featured a forged steel crankshaft, domed aluminum pistons, and a solid-lifter camshaft from the factory. A Holley Cross-Ram induction system is installed. The oil was changed in October 2022.
The engine block stamping is shown in the photo above.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a Muncie M21 close-ratio four-speed manual transmission and a 12-bolt 4.10:1 Posi-traction rear axle.
Accompanying documentation includes copies of the order sheet and original invoice showing a total sale price of $3,914 as well as a Protect-O-Plate and an owner’s manual.
The Jerry MacNeish report details casting codes and other stampings. An accompanying certificate of authenticity is shown in the gallery.
