The car left the factory finished in Monza Red (974) and was repainted in 2006 by Redline Finishes of Ozark, Missouri. Features include dual exhaust outlets, split chrome rear bumpers, pop-up headlights, and body-color removable roof panels.
The 15″ wheels wear Deluxe covers and are wrapped in Firestone Wide Oval tires. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel power disc brakes that were serviced in 2016. Additional work at that time included replacing the emergency brake cable, trailing arm assemblies, and strut rods as well as refreshing suspension components.
Bucket seats are upholstered in red vinyl and complemented by a color-matched dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Equipment includes power steering, air conditioning, Stingray-branded floor mats, and a push-button AM/FM radio.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6k-rpm redline. Auxiliary gauges are located in the center stack. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 46k miles, approximately 10k of which have been added under current ownership. The seller notes that the trip odometer was replaced in 2017.
The 350ci L46 V8 was factory rated at 350 horsepower and features a four-barrel carburetor, finned valve covers, and a chrome air cleaner lid and ignition cover. Refurbishment work in 2016 included cleaning and painting the engine block, cleaning the starter, and servicing the oil pan.
Engine stamping shown above displays the suffix CTJ, which aligns with a 350ci L46 V8 rated at 350 horsepower for use in models with air conditioning and a manual transmission. Additional stamping photos are included in the gallery.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Muncie M20 four-speed manual transmission and a PosiTraction rear differential that was rebuilt in 2016. Transmission tunnel insulation was installed at that time.
The NCRS shipping data report shows that the car was produced on February 24, 1970 and subsequently delivered to the Chevrolet/Pontiac/Canada Group in Warren, Michigan.
