The car was delivered new in Grabber Blue (J) and was refinished under previous ownership. Features include black Boss 302 “hockey-stick” side stripes, a Shaker hood scoop and hood stripes, tinted windows, Sport Slats rear window louvers, front and rear spoilers, dual body-color mirrors, and a black taillight-panel treatment.
Steel 15″ wheels wear polished hubcaps and trim rings and are wrapped in F60-15 Goodyear Polyglas GT-branded white-letter tires. The car was ordered with power front disc brakes and has drum brakes in the rear.
The cabin features high-back bucket seats and a rear bench finished in black vinyl upholstery. Equipment includes a Hurst shifter, a heater, and black rubber floor mats with embossed Mustang logos. The Marti Report shows the car was ordered without a radio.
The two-spoke steering wheel fronts a 120-mph speedometer, and gauges for voltage, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 85k miles, of which approximately 10 miles have been added by the seller.
The 302ci V8 was factory rated at 290 horsepower and 290 lb-ft of torque when new, and the seller states that the motor and transmission were rebuilt by John Callis as part of the refurbishment performed between 2003 and 2008. The fuel tank, sending unit, and all rubber fuel lines are said to have been replaced in April 2022, and a rebuild of the carburetor, a tune-up, an oil change, and a timing and idle adjustment were reportedly performed in preparation for the sale. A supplemental oil cooler is mounted in front of the radiator. Photos of identification numbers are displayed in the gallery below.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a 4.30:1 Detroit Locker rear differential.
The Elite Marti Report lists the equipment ordered, the build date, data plate information, and 1970 model year production statistics.
