442 stands for 4-speed/4-barrel/Dual Exhaust! This 442 has it all!!!
All of the head lights were replaced with new low beam and high beam Halogen headlights for premium
brightness. I did replace all the tail light and brake light bulbs as well. All of the chrome on this true 442 is
mostly in nice driver's quality condition or better. The prior owner said this true 442 does still have the

442 stands for 4-speed/4-barrel/Dual Exhaust! This 442 has it all!!!
All of the head lights were replaced with new low beam and high beam Halogen headlights for premium
brightness. I did replace all the tail light and brake light bulbs as well. All of the chrome on this true 442 is
mostly in nice driver’s quality condition or better. The prior owner said this true 442 does still have the
original 4-speed transmission as well as the original 12-bolt positive traction “posi” rear-end believed to be a
3.23 with the original boxed control arms, and the original rear sway bar. The original posi tag is still in place.
The hood is an original 1970 Genuine GM W-25 steel framed ram-air hood with the factory screen with brand new
chrome twistdowns. I believe the 442 ram-air hood is the nicest looking hood on any muscle car bar none. The
carpeting looks like it was replaced at some point, because it is in fairly nice shape with newer door sills. There
is also a new set of four black carpeted floor mats. The bucket seats were recently professionally reupholstered,
so they should be nice and comfortable for many years to come. There is a nice factory 4-speed console. I added the
brand new boot that surrounds the shifter handle with the plastic housing and new chrome insert to the center of
the console. The balance of the interior appears in very nice condition as shown in the pictures with all 5 pairs
of the original correct 1970 seat belts. The dash board is in very nice shape and the original AM/FM radio is still
in the dash. The radio will need to be hooked up, but at least this dash was never cut up like was typically done
back in the day to fit aftermarket stereo’s. The dash includes the rare options of rally gauges, and the classic
tic-toc-tac original to the car, but will need to be hooked up.
Inside the drivers door still maintains the original blue General Motors manufacturer decal with the vin
number still in tact showing this car was built in March of 1970 which also verifies the drivers door as original
to this 442. The power convertible top canvass is brand spanking new with the glass back window. I never worked on
getting the top working, so that will be left up to the new owner. We had a very rough winter up here in Wisconsin,
and I don’t have a shop anymore. I was limited with all the prep work it took to present this 442 for sale. All the
top down fun can be enjoyed by the new owner. Spring is here, so there will be plenty of months to enjoy a
convertible like this. The top padding was all replaced at the time the top was changed.
This 442 sits on a set of four Firestone G 70-14 Wide-O-Oval raised white lettered ply tires with very nice
like new tread mounted on 14 inch Super Stock I wheels like when these 442’s rolled out of the factory onto the
showroom floor. All four wheels have all four bolt-on center caps, all four beauty trim rings, and all new chrome
lug nuts. The floors look in good condition as well as the frame. The trunk floor looks to be original, but appears
that some patchwork was done at some point, but the trunk floor was coated with A/C Delco black and aqua spatter
spray to appear like it came out of the factory. There is a new trunk gasket with a new trunk mat that has an
original 1970 442 restored jack, jack stand, bumper mount, and crow bar sitting on top of the new mat. Also
included in the trunk is full size Super Stock I spare wheel with a full size spare tire. This way if there is ever
a mishap the car can be back on the road in minutes.
This 442 came from the factory with power front disc brakes. It is very rare to find a real 442 with this many
options that include: tinted glass, power steering, power disc brakes, rally gauges, tic-toc-tac, bucket seats,
console, 4-speed, matching clam shell sport mirrors with the drivers side being remote controlled, chrome door edge
guards, genuine GM ram-air hood with functioning ram-air cleaner, genuine GM Whale Tail Spoiler, cut-out rear
bumper with chrome trumpet exhaust tips, and Super Stock I Wheels. This Olds is steered by the awesome four spoke
442 sport wheel. The actual mileage stated on the odometer reads 62,378 miles.
