Magnum 500–style 15″ wheels with Mustang-logo center caps are mounted with 245/60 BFGoodrich Radial T/A white-letter tires. Braking is provided by front discs and rear drums. The front suspension received replacement lower control arms, sway-bar links and bushings, and inner and outer tie rods in January 2021, at which time the rear leaf springs and sway-bar links also were replaced, the bearings were repacked, and the front brakes were serviced.
The car was equipped with the Mach 1 Sports Interior Package and features high-back front bucket seats and a rear bench upholstered in black vinyl with gray accents. Amenities include a center console, a locking glovebox, power steering, woodgrain trim, bright doorsill plates, and a factory AM/FM stereo. The clock and the radio were repaired under current ownership. The seller notes that the trunk lid will not stay open unassisted, and corrosion on the trunk floor is pictured in the gallery.
The two-spoke steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer and a tachometer, and supplementary gauges monitoring oil pressure, voltage, and coolant temperature are located in the center stack. The five-digit odometer shows 52k miles, approximately 600 of which were added by the seller.
The 429ci Cobra Jet V8 was rebuilt in 2003, and a dyno sheet from 2003 pictured in the gallery shows 432 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque. An aftermarket intake manifold and carburetor have been installed, and the water pump, alternator, and radiator have been replaced. The seller notes that the compressor and hoses for the optional air-conditioning system are not installed.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a C6 three-speed automatic transmission that was rebuilt in 2003.
