Factory-finished in Bahia Red (1313), the roof and windshields were replaced in 1989 following a rollover accident, at which time the car was reportedly refinished in Guards Red. Exterior details include a “flag” left-side mirror, 911S-style black trim, H4 headlights, decklid grille badges, and a single exhaust outlet. The seller notes that the fender lips have been rolled. There are rust bubbles on the lower edge of the driver’s door, there is cracked and bubbled paint around the left-rear wheel well, and the right taillight is cracked.
Fuchs-style 15×6″ wheels with a gloss black finish are fitted up front, while the rear wheels measure 7″ in width and wear a satin-black finish. Kumho Ecsta SPT tires measure 205/55 at each corner, and the seller recommends replacing them due to age. The car rides on Bilstein shocks, and braking is said to be handled by 911S-specification aluminum front brake calipers. Further modifications reportedly include a 15mm front sway bar, Turbo-specification tie rods, Elephant Racing PolyBronze control arm bushings, and SC-sourced torsion bars.
Power-adjustable black leather seats sourced from a 993 are accompanied by a beige headliner as well as black Coco mats. The dashboard and door panels are said to have been re-trimmed following the removal of a roll bar under current ownership. Additional appointments include an Alpine AM/FM/CD stereo, crank windows, a choke button, and rear jump seats. The seller notes that a leather retaining strap is missing from the rear seats, and wear on the gray carpets is photographed below.
The 350mm MOMO steering wheel is mounted with a MOMO adapter and fronts VDO instrumentation consisting of a central tachometer, a 150-mph speedometer, a clock, and combination gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 7k miles, and an estimated 30k miles have been added under current ownership. The speedometer was replaced approximately two decades ago, and total mileage is unknown.
The 2.2-liter flat-six was reportedly resurfaced and decked in July 2019 prior to reassembly. Additional work is said to have involved balancing the crankshaft, replacing the pistons and cylinders, rebuilding the cylinder heads with replacement guides and valves, rebuilding and balancing the connecting rods, and performing an oil bypass conversion along with installing a PerTronix ignitor, Turbo-style lower valve covers, and oil pressure-fed hydraulic timing chain tensioners. An external oil cooler installed in the front fender is linked to copper lines and an external thermostat. The distributor cap was replaced and an oil change was completed in March 2023. Seller-provided compression and leak-down results are presented in the image gallery.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Type 901 five-speed manual transaxle that was installed in July 2019 following the removal of the aforementioned Type 915 gearbox. The first, second, and third gear dog teeth and first-fifth synchro rings were replaced in preparation for installation. Red-finished front and rear tow points are installed, and the exhaust system features SSI heat exchangers paired with a Bursch sport muffler.
