The car was involved in an accident in 2019. Subsequent work performed by World Class Restoration of Riverside, California, involved sheet metal repair to the doors, quarter panels, and tail panel as well as replacement of the rear bumper and paintwork on the hood, roof, quarter panels, and rear body panels. Silver-finished 14″ wheels wear polished BMW-branded hubcaps and are mounted with 195/70 BFGoodrich Traction T/A tires. A matching spare wheel with an older Nitto tire is housed in the trunk along with a tool kit. The car is equipped with independent suspension, and braking is handled by power-assisted discs at all four corners.
The cabin features front bucket seats and bolstered rear seats trimmed in blue vinyl. Additional appointments include an Alpine stereo, air conditioning, a rear defroster, and power windows. The air conditioning compressor and hoses were replaced under current ownership, and the floorboards were reportedly replaced by Lasky Coachworks in Los Angeles, California. The seller notes cracks in various wood trim pieces as well as imperfections in the vinyl upholstery.
The leather-wrapped Nardi steering wheel frames a 150-mph speedometer, a tachometer, a clock, and gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer has rolled over and shows 38k miles. Approximately 40k miles are said to have been added under current ownership, and total mileage is unknown.
The replacement 3.0L M30 inline-six was installed under current ownership by Summit Automotive in Marina Del Rey, California. The engine is equipped with dual Zenith carburetors as well as a 123Ignition programmable distributor that was installed in April 2023. Additional work performed at that time included replacing the radiator, coolant hoses, and drive belts.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a replacement ZF three-speed automatic gearbox that was installed under current ownership.
