Previously finished in brown, the car was repainted white in 1997. Brumos-style graphics were applied in preparation to be a promotional car for the 2022 Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix, and the car features narrow rear bumperettes, a fiberglass ducktail spoiler, sugar scoop headlight rings, a cowl-mounted battery disconnect switch, a front tow hook, a modified front valence, and dual exhaust outlets. The right-side windshield wiper was removed along with the rocker covers and rear valence, which are included in the sale. The seller states that the rear quarter panel arches have been rolled and the lower left-rear quarter panel shows signs of previous repair. The front valence is cracked, the driver-side brake cooling duct is missing, and rock chips and other blemishes can be seen on the front bumper, hood, windshield, and window frames.
Black 15″ staggered-width Fuchs wheels feature polished lips and are mounted with 225/50 Toyo Proxes RA1 showing 2022 date codes. The suspension has been modified with components from Elephant Racing that include Bilstein dampers, 23mm and 31mm torsion bars, Tarett Engineering hollow sway bars, QuickChange camber plates, de-cambered ball joints, spherical front control arm bearings, QuickChange spring plates, and PolyBronze spring plate bearings. Aluminum front brake calipers have been installed, and the brake fluid was flushed in July 2022. Scuffs and chips are noted on the wheels.
The cabin has been fitted with OMP and Corbeau fixed-back race seats that are trimmed in black cloth and equipped with six-point racing harnesses. Additional modifications include an Autopower roll cage, RS-style door panels, a carpeted rear-seat delete kit, a Rennline pedal board, aluminum pedals, a cage-mounted rearview mirror, and an ESS onboard fire-suppression system. The front floor mats have been removed, the heater and defroster are inoperative, and the headliner is stained. The passenger window crank is missing its knob, and the seller notes that both front seats are faded from sun damage. A replacement headliner is included in the sale.
The three-spoke steering wheel fronts a central tachometer, a 150-mph speedometer, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 88k miles, approximately 58k miles of which were added by the current owner.
The replacement 2.4L flat-six engine is said to have been rebuilt in 2006 using Mahle 2.7-liter pistons and cylinders, and it is equipped with Bosch mechanical fuel injection. Additional modifications reportedly consist of the following components:
Service completed since 2021 included changing the oil as well as replacing the starter solenoid, oil sump gasket, oil cooler, valve cover gaskets, spark plugs, engine mounts, and oil pressure sending unit.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle that was reportedly overhauled in 2012. A short-shift kit and a Stomski precision shift joint have been installed along with a Dansk dual outlet muffler. Rust is present on the floorboards and along the transmission mount crossover.
