The body was removed from the frame and repainted under current ownership its current shade of blue with white lower body panels and red pinstripes following the replacement of the floor pans and left-front fender. Fabricated side steps were installed at that time and the frame was sand-blasted and finished in black. The front bumper was shortened, and additional exterior details include a removable canvas soft top, polished bodyside moldings, and a single exhaust outlet with a polished finisher. Removable side curtains are included in the sale. The seller notes a dent in the right-rear quarter panel molding, and additional body and paint blemishes can be viewed in the gallery below.
White-finished 15″ steel wheels wear polished covers and are mounted with 31×10.5″ BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 tires, and a covered spare is mounted to the rear swing-away rear carrier. The truck is equipped with power steering as well as manually locking front hubs, and the suspension has been modified using a Wild Horses suspension lift kit, Bilstein shock absorbers, Rock Crawler rear leaf springs, and polyurethane bushings. Braking is provided by power-assisted front discs and rear drums.
The interior features replacement heated and power-adjustable front bucket seats and a bolstered rear bench that were reportedly sourced from a late-model BMW and are trimmed in tan leather upholstery. Sound-deadening material was applied under the carpets, and appointments include a heater, a roll cage, three-point seatbelts, a push-button ignition system, a passenger grab bar, a center console, and a custom audio system with Bluetooth connectivity. There is a crack in the dash pad.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel sits ahead of a column-mounted tachometer as well as a white-painted dashboard fascia housing a 100-mph speedometer and perimeter gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The five-digit odometer was reportedly reset during the refurbishment and shows approximately 4k miles. Total mileage is unknown.
The replacement 5.0-liter V8 is said to have been overhauled prior to installation under current ownership and was sourced from a 1991 Mustang. Equipment includes electronic fuel injection, a GT40-style intake manifold and cylinder heads, short-tube exhaust headers, Scorpion Racing roller rockers, a custom air intake system, and an aluminum radiator.
Power is delivered to the rear or all four wheels through a replacement three-speed automatic transmission that was overhauled during the refurbishment along with a dual-range transfer case. The truck is equipped with a fabricated exhaust system as well as dual fuel tanks, although the seller notes the front fuel tank is not currently connected.
