Halibrand-style 18″ wheels wear knock-off spinners and are mounted with Nitto NT555 G2 tires measuring 245/40 up front and 295/40 out back. The car is equipped with an independent rear suspension and four-wheel disc brakes.
The bucket seats are trimmed in black upholstery and feature Backdraft Racing-logo embroidered backrests. Additional equipment includes a push-button start, tinted sun visors, a dash-mounted rearview mirror, Sabelt racing harnesses, Backdraft Racing-branded floor mats, door handle pull straps, and an emergency cutoff switch. The seller notes the car features a dropped foot box to accommodate taller drivers.
The three-spoke wood-rimmed steering wheel fronts a central cluster with a 200-mph speedometer, 8k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The digital odometer shows 2k miles, all of which were added under current ownership.
The 427ci V8 was sourced from Iconic Parts of Boynton Beach, Florida, and features a four-barrel carburetor, Comp Cams camshaft, Edelbrock intake manifold, and MSD ignition system. An Iconic-branded air cleaner cover is also fitted along with “427 Cobra” Ford Racing valve covers. The oil was changed in the summer of 2022.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Tremec T5 five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Additional underside images are provided in the gallery.
A plaque mounted in the engine bay shows the VIN and identifies the car as being built by TR-Tec in South Africa.
