The bodywork of the CAV GT is constructed from a vinyl ester resin-based composite, and features a Gulf officially licensed blue and orange paint scheme with #6 roundels. Equipment includes a rear spoiler, Lemans-style fuel caps, vented engine covers, dual mirrors, side air intake ducts, plexiglass door windows, a single windshield wiper, and dual exhaust outlets that exit in the center of the rear fascia.
Orange 15″ BRM knock-off wheels are mounted with Goodyear Eagle Sport Car Special white-letter tires measuring 26.5×8″ up front and 26.5×10.5″ out back. The car is fitted with adjustable front and rear coilovers, and braking is handled by power-assisted Brembo four-piston discs at all four corners.
The cockpit features fixed-back bucket seats upholstered in black leather with ring-grommet ventilation joined by a matching dashboard, center console, and door panels. Equipment includes a center-mounted switch panel, a push-button ignition, a backup camera, and black carpeting.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel has a CAV horn button and sits ahead of a VDO 8k-rpm tachometer, 220-mph speedometer, and gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, fuel level, oil temperature, and voltage. The digital odometer shows 91 miles, approximately 30 of which were added under current ownership.
The Roush 427ci V8 features a velocity-stack fuel injection kit, a high-pressure fuel system, MSD ignition components, individual stack air cleaners, and “bundle of snakes” tubular exhaust headers.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a ZF five-speed manual transaxle. The car is said to have been fitted with a McLeod clutch, flywheel, and throw-out bearing.
