The Superformance MKIII features fiberglass bodywork over a rectangular steel frame with steel tube reinforcements, and this example is finished in metallic red with silver center stripes. Additional exterior details include a polished driver-side roll hoop and bumpers as well as a hood scoop, wind wings, fender vents, and a LeMans-style fuel cap. A tonneau cover, a removable black soft top, and sliding side windows are included in the sale.
Halibrand-style 15″ wheels are secured by safety-wired three-eared knock-off spinners and are mounted with 255/60 front and 275/60 rear Yokohama Avid S/T tires. The car rides on an independent suspension with adjustable coilovers, and stopping power is provided by Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes.
The low-back bucket seats are trimmed in black leather and are joined by a color-coordinated dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Equipment includes a dash-mounted rearview mirror, a locking glove compartment, sun visors, and a Jordan Track Shifter as well as a G-Force Racing Gear four-point harness for the driver and a latch-and-link lap belt for the passenger.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel fronts an 8k-rpm tachometer, a reverse-sweep 180-mph speedometer, and auxiliary gauges for amperage, fuel level, oil pressure, and oil and water temperature. The digital odometer indicates 4,100 miles, approximately 50 of which have been added by the selling dealer.
The 427ci V8 is a Roush Performance-sourced 427SR crate engine according to the selling dealer, and it features a Holley carburetor, an Edelbrock intake manifold, an MSD ignition system, and a front-mounted oil cooler. The long-tube exhaust headers and side-exit exhaust pipes are said to be ceramic coated.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Tremec five-speed manual transmission, per the selling dealer. Additional underbody photos are provided in the gallery below.
The car is titled as a 1965 Cobra using the Superformance chassis number AC9CSLK2007AN2537, shown above.
